Connect Problem

Our software products require a momentary Internet Connection when you:

  • First Install the Product
  • Press the Purchase button to place an order
  • Use the Automatic Update feature
  • Uninstall the Product

Normally, our software will activate your Dial Up Networking just as you would do when you wish to connect to the Internet. If this does not happen, but instead you see a "Connect Problem" warning message, it can be due to:

  • You are an AOL customer
  • You are a COMPUSERVE customer
  • You are not using Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater
  • You are using a 'strange' browser
  • You are missing vital Internet Explorer components

AOL and Compuserve Problem

Both AOL and COMPUSERVE remove normal Dial Up Networking features from your computer. We suspect that they do this to prevent you from using their service as a simple Internet Service Provider. Instead they WANT you to view their advertisements. As such, they have reconfigured your Windows Operating System.

How to cure the AOL/Compuserve Problem

When you see the "Connect Problem" message, exit the software. Manually connect and login to AOL or Compuserve. When on-line, minimize the browser so that you can view your Desktop. Restart our software and continue what you were doing. When the function you were doing is complete, you can then disconnect from AOL or Compuserve.

Internet Explorer Problem

If you are not using Internet Explorer, that may not be the problem since other browsers will work. Your problem may be that you have not installed certain components of Internet Explorer or have removed them.

How to cure the Internet Explorer Problem

You can install Internet Explorer so that the required components are on your computer. Your other browser such as Netscape Navigator should still function properly.
