Date Problem causes software to terminate! The basic problem you are having is due to a defect in Windows. The standard US format for dates is Month/Day/Year. The standard non-US format is Day/Month/Year. Our software relies on Windows to provide a date and with the defect, Windows swaps the day and month thus causing our software to think your computer date is wrong. This problem is most prevalent with our Canadian customers. We have (or think we have) fixed this problem. All of the latest versions of our software have this 'fix'. You can download the latest version of your problem. However, if you an immediate solution, you can do the following... You are using a perfectly valid dating scheme where the date is in a "day month year' format (a non-US format). Most of our customers in Canada and elsewhere have no problem with this format. However, and we do not know why, some computers are providing the wrong information to our product and you will need to change the SHORT DATE FORMAT for your computer. This will have no effect on your computer other than the dates shown on your file listings. TO FIX THE PROBLEM: From the START button, go to SETTINGS. Select CONTROL PANEL, then REGIONAL settings. On that dialog, select the DATE tab at the top. Find the SHORT DATE FORMAT section. You should see a listing showing that your short date format is any of the following (D/M/Y), (dd/mm/yyyy) and so on. Simply find a select where the M is first and the D is second such as MM/DD/YYYY. Press the APPLY button and close the dialog. In some cases, the software will now run just fine. In other cases, you may have to reinstall the software. |
