The Guest List Manager

We're sorry, this could take hours. Remember, this is not a wedding planner. But at first glance, this screen certainly has a lot of those functions.

Guest Name, Address, Telephone - Obviously, here you enter that information. It is used to address your envelopes. For those of you using separate Inner Envelopes, we also include a separate Inner Envelope text line. Your Inner could use the same line as your Guest Name, "Mr. and Mrs. Roger Williams". But it is sometimes suitable to have "Roger and Mary" on the Inner. Here is where you can do that.

Friend Of - Note that you can annotate each guest party with their relationship. Aside from just good record keeping, let's give you a good idea of how you can use this.

You, the bride or bride's mom are doing the invitations. The grooms mom is going to supply you with HER guest list. Obviously, here is where you can mark all those strange people so that you have some idea who they are. But here is the real benefit.

The grooms mom wants to see a copy of your guest list before you do those envelopes just to make sure you typed all the names and addresses properly, right? POWER . . . when you go to print the Guest List, you can select which part of the list you want printed, the whole list, just the friends of the bride or just the friends of the groom. Nice eh? You do not have to give the grooms mom a complete list of all your friends and relatives.

Status - Here is where the "management" concept comes into play. As you are developing your Guest List, you can annotate each guest part with one of the three most important markers shown. How do we use this?

When you go to print your invitations, we count your Guest List for only those you have marked as Invite. When you go to print Announcements, ditto. When you are ready to print envelopes, ditto, we address the envelopes ONLY for the appropriately marked guests.

As an aside, when you are clicking on these annotations, those little numbers are instantly updated so that you have an immediate count.

You also might ask, "Why is the guest name split between first and last"? The answer is so that we can SORT your guest list based on last names.

Guest Response - Here you can keep track of those guests who have sent you or called in their response. Check them off! And make the number attending and get an immediate total at the bottom of the screen.

Place Cards - Having a very fancy Reception? Here you can make table seating assignments so your Place Cards can be printed with "Mr. and Mrs. Roger Williams / You are seated at Table Number 17".

We even let you enter each guests' name, like "Roger Williams" and "Mary Williams" just in case you also want to print Individual Name Cards that can be placed adjacent to each dinner plate.

And after you return from your honeymoon, you can log a gift description (purely for your records) but also mark each guest that is to get a Thank You Note.

Sort - You never have to press this button since your Guest List is automatically sorted each time you exit this screen. But just in case you want to sort it while you are working with it, we provide the Sort button.

Now we're ready to take a look at Invitation Wordings. Normally, you would press the Return to Ensemble button on this screen to return to the Main Screen. Let's pretend we did that and just pressed the INVTATIONS button on the Main Screen . . .
