Invitation Wordings
Your event wording is VERY important. It normally tells the
guest who is hosting, who the event is celebrating, and the date,
time, and location of the event. The way this information is
conveyed follows traditions that have evolved over several hundred
years. One simple example, on a formal invitation you never put "June
6th, 2003". To this end, our software provides you with
perfect socially correct wordings. As illustrated above, for a
wedding, we get you started with abut 60 wordings. Actually there
are about 30 "pairs". But more on this later.
Wording - The top set of Next / Previous buttons
step you through the wordings. If your event is "standard",
more than likely you will find a classic wording that is perfect
for you.
Add-In Wording - A similar set of buttons lets you do an
"add-in" wording below your regular wording. For
example, "Reception immediately follows ceremony" is
typical.
Footnotes - An lastly, an addition set of those buttons
lets you step through a variety of left and/or right footnotes.
If you filled in all the event data, every wording will have
your event information filled in to make it easy for you to find
just what you are looking for.
On the right side, you will see a perfectly typeset wording.
Just so you know that you cannot use any other software to do
this, we calculate the font size and leading (line spacing) to
exactly fit within the allocated wording area of the paper stock
you are going to use (more on paper stock later). You COULD use
some word processor or some template software to do this but I can
assure you, the result that you guess at will never be as perfect
as a commercially typeset invitation. There are standards! Our
software sets the standard.
We do get a rare comment that users wish they could see the
whole invitation on the screen. Our answer is, "Why?"
There is nothing for you to adjust. The proof of the pudding is in
the printing.
Ensemble Lettering Font - Press this button to select
one of the six beautiful fonts we have installed on your computer
OR select ANY other font you may have. (Be aware that junk fonts
do not typeset well . . . that's why we have provided you with the
best.) After you select you font (font size is ignored), you can
immediately select a font color.
Since the Invitation is the key paper in your ensemble, it is
the only place where you can select the font. The font you set
here is applied to all the other papers and envelopes. That is
just the way it is done by the pros. You can come back to this
screen and reselect a font if you want your respond cards to be
different but it is not a good idea. Again, we are trying our best
to make sure you do not do something that is generally improper.
But you can have it your way if you wish.
Before we tell you about the great editing features, we noted
earlier that we would discuss those "wording pairs".
This software gives you the power to PERSONALIZE your wordings by
including the GUEST NAME within the invitation. Thus, for each
normal invitation, the Next button will display the equivalent
wording Personalized. You cannot get any commercial printer to do
this and your guests will appreciate your personal touch.
Ok you have found a wording but it is not quite what you want.
