Print Your Wording
This screen shows you a scaled view of your final paper layout.
In the actual case shown above, this happens to be an 8-1/2 x 11
inch sheet of paper stock in the landscape orientation and shows a
rose graphic that is built into our software as a printable
graphic. If you are using a vendor paper that already has a
printed or embossed design, we do not display that design.
First, you do not have to set you printer to Landscape even
though the paper requires that orientation. Our software takes
care of that change automatically.
Since many of the vendor papers are not standard size paper
stock, if you were using such a paper, an additional button
appears on this screen called Feed Options. This allows
you to set center or edge feeding and displays a picture showing
you how to feed the paper into your print. All that aside, that is
the primary reason we have a button called Make Test Print.
Make Test Print - button ignores your Guest List.
Instead it always prints ONE paper and only one. It also adds
information to your printout. This includes the printing of a test
frame around the wording and a page title showing you the paper
stock name you might be using. To use the test print feature, you
would normally not want to waste a real invitation. Instead you
put plain paper in your printer. When the print is finished, you
then hold the printed output against your real stock to make sure
everything is in the right location. More so, you use the test
print feature to get an idea which way to put the real invitation
into your printer so that it comes out properly printed.
The regular Print button is used when you are ready to
go into production. If you are printing normal (not Personalized)
invitations, we count the number of guests you have marked as
Invite and then preset your print dialog for that count. You can
change the count if your desire.
Personalized Printing - If, on the other hand, you are
printing Personalized Invitations, Reponds with the guest name, or
Place Cards, every printout will be different (every printout
includes the guest name). Thus, for this type of printing, we
activate a special popup screen which is filled with selected
guest names. You are given the option to print them ALL or to
start printing from a selected guest name, or to print one sheet
with only one guest name.
Since printing is your final product, we suggest that while you
are evaluating the quality and suitability of our software, you
also investigate the paper stocks by visiting the paper vendors
web sites and getting samples (don't go overboard and try to
request too many samples). Before you buy our software or make a
large purchase of paper stock, make sure everything works right.
We do not give refunds on try-before-software and most paper
vendors will not accept a return of an open package of paper.
Neither ED/iT nor a paper supplier or store can guarantee that
your printer is not too old, has no driver defects, or is no
flaky. This is usually not a concern if you are printing a
standard 8-1/2 by 11 inch paper but can be a problem with
undersized paper.
Rule of Thumb - after making a test print on a full sheet of
plain paper, cut a sheet of plain paper to the same size as your
invitation (or envelope) and try feeding BEFORE wasting real
paper.
