Custom Paper
This screen lets you enter the dimensions of paper stock and
envelopes either because you have a paper not listed within our
software OR you want to simply design and cut your own. Since this
custom feature also lets you import your own graphic (or use any
of our built in graphics), there is a lot of power here.
Note: when you first activate this screen, it includes some
predisplayed instructions. We have skipped those and have
pretended that you have press the Paper Stock button (upper left).
Paper Stock - press this button to view the four
possible paper layouts (pictures at top showing two large layouts
and two small layouts). Then you click on one of the layouts and
the center of the screen with the rulers shows a scale view of
that layout. We've done that too.
On the right side, you can type in the dimensions of the paper
stock. You can also scroll the dimensions. On the left side you
can select the units you wish to work in and also the scrolling
step size.
A word about the picture. See the gray box. That is your Wording
area. The displayed paper stock is a simple 5 x 7 inch stock with
a perfectly centered wording area.
Let's say you have a nice graphic that is about 1.5 inches
square and you want it near the upper left corner. To do so, you
can move and size the wording area. You would press the Wording
button to do this.
Wording button - lets you move and size the wording
area. The right side of the display would have four entry and
scroll boxes, labelled Left, Top, Width, and Height. You would
move and size the frame accordingly. Then you would load your
artwork.
Artwork button - lets you select your artwork file (or
any of our built-in graphics) and lets you set the Left, Top,
Width, and Height of your graphic or photo.
After you locate the artwork, you can go back and forth between
the Artwork and Wording buttons to fine tune your layout.
You can do this for all the different layouts in your paper
ensemble. You might, for example, take the same graphic or photo
you are using for your invitations, make it smaller and put it on
the Respond Card layout.
Why are there four layouts? You might have folding papers and
you might want a layout for the outside and the inside.
There's more...
So you just saw how to start from scratch. You can also LOAD A
VENDOR PAPER or LOAD A PRINTABLE GRAPHIC PAPER. You would begin
from the Paper Stock Selector and select the Vendor and their
product. Then you would press the Custom button. Next you would
press the . . .
Load button - which pops up a dialog asking if you want
to preload the custom with your currently selected paper stock or
do you want to start from scratch. By loading the vendor paper,
you can then ADD YOUR OWN PHOTO to the vendor paper and either
relocate the wording area or put the photo behind the wording as a
watermark. Have we wet your appetite?
When you are finished and satisfied with your custom paper, you
press the Save button then the Return button. Back
on the Paper Stock Selector screen you can then assign your paper
layouts to the ensemble buttons we discussed earlier.
Ok we're almost done. Just a few more screens to show you. Back
on the Main Screen in the Preview and Print frame, you can print
your Guest List, Wording choices, event Information, Totals, and
any of your Envelopes. Let's . . . |
